Let's keep this simple. I was born in Palermo in 1985. Since there are few other, although less known, places around the world with that name, maybe it would be worth specifying that I'm talking about the Palermo in Sicily. And since 1985 has been a year with quite a few days, like the ones that came before and probably the ones that will come after, maybe it would be also worth specifying o that my birthday it's the 2nd of August. But, as I said, let's keep it simple.
At 18 I went to study at the University of Florence and got a bachelor's degree in political science in 2007. Then, I moved to Barcelona, where I got a master's degree in political communication at the Institute of Political and Social Sciences (ICPS) in 2009. At that point, even if those fields of study were still interesting to me, it was clear that they weren't exactly what I would call a passion. It had already been years that what I liked the most was movies. Watching movies. Talking about movies. Reading about movies. Learning about movies, especially about the cinematography. So, the best idea was to go in for studying cinematography at Bande à part film school. Always in Barcelona: I hadn't moved from there at that time, and haven't still. I like it. At the end, after tons of projects that would be considered job if it wans't for the lack of money in exchange for it, I eventually started working as a cinematographer, this time with money in exchange for it, in commercials, fashion films, music videos, short films and (two) feature films. The list of clients I had the pleasure to work for include Pepsico, H&M, Unilever, Panama Jack, Heura, Lolea, Eurostars Hotels, Puig, Calzedonia, Oxygene. Since 2019 I've been also working as an all-around, all-terrain filmmaker, in charge of all the different phases of the video projects: creativity, filming, editing and, when needed, 2D motion graphics. I've been responsible of the audiovisual content of BCN3D, one of the leading developers and manufacturers of 3D printers worldwide: working within its marketing team, I made engaging video content for the client's target audience ans I was also in charge of supervise and manage those projects or scenes, such as 3D animations, that had to be outsourced. My work has been proven to have enhanced the company brand presence. Last but not least, the languages section. I'm fluent in Italian (spending the first 22 years of my life in Italy helped a lot!), English, Spanish and Catalan.
